Cermak Road Elevated CTA Green Line Station

The scope of services for this project consisted of Phase III construction engineering services for the construction of the new Cermak Road Elevated CTA Green Line Station located on the south branch of CTA’s elevated Green Line. DB Sterlin’s responsibilities included documentation of daily activities, processing of material submittals, requests for information, pay estimates and change order modifications, construction inspection, project coordination, and all other duties that required the services of an engineer to successfully complete this project on a timely basis and in accordance with CDOT standards.
The project included the construction of a new rail station with entrances and fare collection at grade on the North side of Cermak Road and an auxiliary entrance/exit at 23rd Street. In addition, platforms, elevators, stairs, architectural finishes, station support rooms, communication, speaker and security systems, lighting, platform canopies for weather protection, concessionaire booth, and bike racks, and modifications to the existing Train Control System were also included. The new station will be ADA-accessible and have station house facilities located at grade level. The platform will be a center-island configuration for an eight-car train with canopy coverage for six cars. The station would have direct transfer connections to buses on Cermak Road and three entrance points on each side of Cermak Road and at 23rd Street.
