DB Sterlin is a contractor for the OMMAP project, responsible for survey work that assesses the existing conditions of the future work site. This includes IA of all construction layouts and As-Builts as requested by CDA, field survey verification of subgrades, frost protection, asphalt, concrete, utilities, and building structures. All procedures are in accordance with contract technical specifications and drawings or other miscellaneous survey requests by CDA. As an independent assurance contractor, DB Sterlin reviews project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes. This involves conducting regular field inspections and quality assurance testing to verify that survey work is being performed according to project plans and specifications. DB Sterlin prepares regular reports documenting their findings and provides recommendations for any necessary corrective actions or changes to project plans and specifications.
The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is undertaking major modernization efforts at both O’Hare and Midway International Airports. The Quality Assurance and Material Testing at O’Hare and Midway is a large-scale construction project managed by CDA at Chicago’s local airports. The project involves materials and field testing, inspection, and survey work while adhering to standards and codes specified by CDA. The QAMT Consultant will aid the PMO to review the QA/QC and survey procedures currently in place to establish the program’s final Construction QA/QC and survey requirements; to control and ensure the quality of construction; and to record the QA/QC process for the projects. Perform layout as requested by CDA and the PMO. Perform audits and reviews of Contractors survey personnel and verification methods / procedures.
