I-88 Reagan Memorial Tollway Reconstruction
DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois
The scope of services for this project included plan preparation for the rehabilitation and modification of the I-88 Tollway between York Road and I-290. The work included survey, structural inspections, preparation of Bridge Condition Reports, repair and/or replacement of multiple bridges, rehabilitation of the roadway, and construction of new overhead sign structures.
DB Sterlin prepared repair plans, special provisions, and quantity calculations for the I-88 Bridges over Roosevelt Road (SN 215 and 216) and Salt Creed (SN 275 and 276). The work also included the development of plans and structural calculations for an MSE Wall and High-Performance Concrete Moment Slab Structure.
DB Sterlin also performed a detailed hands-on inspection and prepared inspection reports for the I-88 Bridges over Roosevelt Road (SN 215 and 216) and the I-88 Bridges over Salt Creek (SN 2 75 and 276), Harger Road Ramp Bridge over Salt Creek (Structure No. 277) and the Pedestrian and Bike Trail Bridge over I-88 (Structure No. 280). The inspections identified the areas of distress, deterioration, and section loss for use in the preparation of the inspection report and repair plans.
In addition, DB Sterlin performed land survey work that consisted of the compilation of horizontal and vertical control data, supplemental aerial mapping surveys, topographic surveys, cross sections, drainage surveys, bridge surveys, and miscellaneous pick-up surveys.
