Pershing Road Improvement – Ashland Avenue to Wentworth Avenue – Cook County, Illinois – PTB 196 Item 12

The Pershing Road Improvement Project upgraded safety, walkability, and visual appeal along the corridor from Ashland Avenue to Wentworth Avenue in Chicago. The project included street lighting and traffic signal modernization to support community connectivity and enhance corridor functionality.

Lighting and Signal Design for Reliability
DB Sterlin led the design of temporary and permanent street lighting layouts, underground conduit and cable infrastructure, and traffic signal modernization at multiple intersections. Designs incorporated energy-efficient LED fixtures and integrated seamlessly with existing roadway infrastructure while meeting city standards for safety and long-term performance.

Coordinating a Complex Urban Streetscape Project
The project required collaboration with CDOT, prime consultant STV, contractors, and other stakeholders. DB Sterlin ensured design accuracy, constructability, and adherence to project schedules, implementing field inspections, technical oversight, and quality assurance measures.
