The 93rd Street Reconstruction project modernized the corridor from 63rd Avenue to Cooper Road, transforming a rural roadway into a fully urbanized street designed to improve safety, traffic operations, and stormwater management. The reconstruction enhanced drainage capacity, reduced flood risk, and delivered a resilient corridor that supports long-term community growth while protecting the Jerome Creek watershed.
Engineering for Hydraulics and Stormwater Management
DB Sterlin provided comprehensive hydraulic and stormwater analysis to support roadway reconstruction. The team prepared drainage documentation for the Jerome Creek culvert, designed two stormwater ponds for water quality treatment and peak flow control, and replaced a culvert conveying a FEMA-studied stream. Additional services included floodplain compensatory storage design, CLOMR/LOMR coordination, and full storm sewer system modeling to ensure reliable performance under varying storm conditions.
Coordinating Roadway and Environmental Design
The project required close collaboration with Ayres & Associates and WisDOT to integrate roadway improvements with hydraulic and environmental requirements. DB Sterlin’s analyses supported urban infrastructure enhancements, including curb and gutter installation, storm sewer upgrades, dedicated turn lanes, and construction of a single-lane roundabout, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while improving corridor functionality.
