Midway Runway 4L – 22R Rehabilitation
Chicago, Illinois
The scope of services for this project consisted of the full topographic survey and mapping of 4L-22R in addition to Taxiways N, W, J, P, and other areas. The project included reconstruction, overlay, and new shoulders of 4L-22R and Taxiways. The work consisted of the mill (0”‐3”) and overlay with 3”-6” of new bituminous asphalt pavement as well as complete reconstruction in some areas. Reconfiguration of Taxiway P was part of this project. A 90-degree entrance to the runway was needed to provide a better view of airplane traffic. Sewer investigation within the areas surveyed was also necessary to complete the project.
