The scope of services for this project consisted of the full topographic survey and mapping of 4L-22R in addition to Taxiways N, W, J, P, and other areas. The project included reconstruction, overlay, and new shoulders of 4L-22R and Taxiways. The work consisted of the mill (0”‐3”) and overlay with 3”-6” of new bituminous asphalt pavement as well as complete reconstruction in some areas. Reconfiguration of Taxiway P was part of this project. A 90-degree entrance to the runway was needed to provide a better view of airplane traffic. Sewer investigation within the areas surveyed was also necessary to complete the project.
DB Sterlin as a subconsultant to Jacobs Engineering Group performed a full topographic survey which included the location of all surface features including man-holes and hand-holes, horizontal and vertical controls, close level circuits, cross sections, pavement markings, and location and identification of all utilities within the project limits. DB Sterlin also provided updated existing conditions, erosion control and restoration, and drainage design plans. Furthermore, DB Sterlin provided quantities, cost opinions, specifications, and details for the aforementioned design elements. DB Sterlin also assisted with RFI response and Shop Drawing review during construction.
